Holcombe Harriers Club Championships 2017 – Let the Hounds loose!

The Rules:

You will be put into a Hound Team of 4.

Your best result of SIX races will count. You must compete in at least THREE different disciplines, PLUS the HOOPLA which will be on Saturday 2nd December. (Followed by the Howler Championship party that evening)

The team with the most points at the end of the year will be club champions.

You will gain points according to your positioning in your category.

The categories depend on the categories of each individual event

Eg.MSen; MV40; MV50/55; MV60/65;   Eg. FSen; FV40; FV50/55; FV60/65

Only the events below will count towards the Championship.

The Points system:

1st in category = 50 points

Each position below = one point less eg 20th in category = 30points

You always get 10 points for finishing

Remember – the aim is to have all members of the team completing at least 6 of the races from 3 disciplines for the team to have a chance of winning and therefore make the championship exciting.

Trail Running 26th February – Terry Nortley 10 Mile Trail Race, Radcliffe. 11am

11th May – 5km Whitworth Ian Casey Memorial Trail race Cowm reservoir 7pm

Thursday 1st June/July/August 7.30pm Cuerden Valley Badger 10km Trail Race Series (only one of the series counts but feel free to do them all and get your best score!)

15th July Pendle Running Festival 5 mile Trail

19th November – 13 Arches (Radcliffe) half marathon trail 10.30am

12th February/12th March 5km Barrowford Fastrax (1km loops on new FLAT cycle track) 11am £5 Entry on day (also includes 2km kids race – non-championship )

2nd April Darwen Half marathon 9.30am

23rd April 10am– Bolton 10km (early bird discount 31.1.17) undulating

15th July Pendle Running Festival 5km/10km/half marathon*

17th September Bury 10km

17th September 1pm – Cross Keys Relay – road leg 3miles / Bury 10km

21st Sept/13th Oct Barrow Bridge 5km undulating

5th November Through the villages 8.4miles (very undulating)
