After forecasts of thunderstorms throughout the day, we were treated to a glorious evening as 84 runners took on the short but brutal 4-mile course.

From the first long climb up to the tower, it was Horwich Harriers runners Rob Hope and James Kevan who led the field. The pair dominated the race, with Rob eventually pulling clear to take the win in 33:27, finishing 21 seconds ahead of James. Rob’s winning time was just outside the course record of 31:57, set by local runner Ben Coop in 2024.

The women’s race was also won by Horwich Harriers, with Charlotte Wilkinson taking victory in 42:44 and finishing an impressive 16th overall. Charlotte narrowly missed the women’s course record of 42:22, set by Kay Welsby in 2024.

It was a successful evening for Horwich Harriers, who took both the Men’s and Women’s Team Prizes.

A huge well done to all 84 runners who took on the challenge, and thank you for making it such a fantastic evening of racing.
